May 12, 2008: This event could not have happened without the support of our wonderful sponsors, volunteers and race participants. We enjoyed the walk/run through beautiful West Park, and Coxhall Gardens under a magnificent blue sky, after several days of rain. We had record breaking attendance (estimated in the low 400's) and hope to surpass our goal of $30,000! Our mission at Head for the Cure is: raise awareness of brain tumors in the community, support for family and friends of brain tumors and raise money for research to find a cure. It is so special to see the brain tumor survivors each year. It is their courageous spirit that gives us the inspiration to grow this event each year. Hope to see you at next year's event scheduled for May 16th 2009! .
We would love to have any pictures taken at Saturday's event. Please feel free to mail us a CD to the address on the entry form page.

Pending approval of permits, we're planning to change the event route to eliminate congestion on the course. The event will still start and finish inside West Park but will exit and return to the Park in one large loop (rather than the previous two loops inside). The anticipated route will be close to 3.7 miles
This fun, family oriented fun walk/run will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008. The event will take place at West Park in Carmel, IN
The goal of the day is to raise awareness and research funding for the American Brain Tumor Association. The ABTA is a not-for-profit, independent organization. Not affiliated with any one institution, they serve individuals globally and award funds to researchers throughout the United States and Canada.
The menu to your left provides access to detailed information about the event and the American Brain Tumor Association and their services. If you have any direct questions, please call the ABTA at 800-886-2282, or send an e-mail to them at: info@abta.org.
Join us to make a difference. If you are interested in helping in any way, please feel free to contact us.
There are many ways to help: Be an event co-organizer; an event sponsor; an event day volunteer or donate goodies for the racer packets.

2007: Natalie and Sema visited Dr Santosh Kesari, MD, PhD who received a research grant from the ABTA funded with the money raised from our event. According to Dr Kesari, these funds were used to test an idea he had, the results of these tests were used as the basis to receive a much larger research grant.
2007 Recap : Big thanks to everyone that made this day possible. We recorded 364 event participants and another 100 or so children in attendance and a record donation to the ABTA of $23,500.
