In December 2003, The Sapper Family, of Indianapolis, IN, would have their lives changed forever when news arrived that their father, Theodore Sapper was diagnosed with a brain tumor. On March 16 2004, just over 3 months after his diagnosis, Theodore was lost to the Sapper family due to a glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) brain tumor.
Moved by his passing and the knowledge that almost 49,000 people per year are effected by brain tumors, the Sapper Family decided to raise funds and awareness for brain tumors and the families that it affects.
Working with their friends and community as a whole, in 2005 we created the 1st Annual "Head for the Cure" 5K Fun Run/Walk to benefit the American Brain Tumor Association.
